We Tried One of Everything!
Fair food to go? Yes please!
Toni Taste Buds checked out the Fair Eats Drive-Thru that took place from July 3 through July 5, 2020 at the South Florida Fairgrounds.
Every Palm Beach County native knows that “The Fair” is an annual staple for fun in the community. Fair Eats was a creative and safe way for folks to get their hands on their favorite fair foods for a reasonable price during COVID-19.
While the Fair Eats was not a forum for anyone who was calorie counting, the Toni Girls believe in counting our coins and not our calories!
Picture it: The Toni Girls rolled up to the Fair Eats Drive-Thru and told the cashier that we wanted everything on the menu (with double helpings of roasted corn and triple regular-sized corn dogs).
The cashier replied: “Excuse me?” Sis was flabbergasted.
Toni Girls: “That’s right, ma’am! We want it all!”

The Corn Dog
That good ole’ corn dog was the star of the show! The dough was so fluffy and sweet. We’re drooling just thinking of the dough paired with the savory dog. O M G!
Those Fried Oreos
We had no idea what to expect with the fried Oreos. Would they tantalize our taste buds or turn our tender stomachs? The moment we bit into the first Oreo, our taste buds rejoiced! Think of a warm, homemade donut mixed with chocolate throughout…but better.
Chicken Finger with Fries
These were not your kids’ menu chicken tenders! They were savory, with the perfect texture for fried food: not too crispy, yet not too mushy. You know the tenders are good when you don’t even need to add any ketchup or sauce. Those French fries were perfectly salted and heavenly in their simplicity. Perfection.
Overall, the Fair Eats Drive Thru was a great Saturday afternoon experience. The opportunity to skip past the long lines of the Fair and avoid the weather in our air-conditioned ride was heaven for the Toni Girls!
The Fair Eats Drive Thru returned for another round July 17-19. We hope that Fair Eats becomes a regular event in Palm Beach County.
*UPDATE: We received word that the Fair Eats Drive-Thru will return from September 5-7, 2020, with an expanded menu. The Labor Day menu will include kettle corn, gyros, and buckets of mini donuts along with our fair food favorites. We are sure it will be a treat!

Good news, Taste Buddies! The South Florida Fair will be hosting its Spookyville Drive-Thru Fair Eats and Treats. This drive-thru event looks to be perfect for the little ones who might not have the opportunity to enjoy trick or treating due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
