Taste Buddies, the Toni Girls are ecstatic to be back with our second blind taste test. We found some of the best biscuits in Palm Beach for our first blind taste test. Our mission on this taste test adventure was to find the best barbecue in Palm Beach.

The Experiment: Blind Taste Test
For our blind taste tests, we recruit two of our loved ones; cover their eyes with a blindfold; and have them taste a specific type of food from three different restaurants. Then, without knowing the name of the restaurants or seeing the food, we ask our Taste Buddies to rate the food on a scale of one to ten. After our Taste Buddies rate the restaurants, we declare the winner.
This time, we enlisted the help of two of our favorite Taste Buddies in our pursuit of the best barbecue in Palm Beach: Uncle Toni and Cousin Toni. These two are absolutely hilarious! Uncle Toni is a rib connoisseur, so we knew that he would be able to provide expert analysis for our blind taste test. Cousin Toni is feisty and opinionated so we knew she would give us the true tea on the ribs!
The Toni Girls purchased ribs from three restaurants in Palm Beach:
- Park Avenue BBQ Grille in West Palm Beach
- Okeechobee Steakhouse in West Palm Beach (the food truck)
- Pete’s Crazy Grill in our hometown, Riviera Beach

The Results: Best Barbecue in Palm Beach
Our Taste Buddies thought that, by far, Pete’s Crazy Grill had the best barbecue out of the bunch. Both Uncle Toni and Cousin Toni gave Pete’s Crazy Grill high marks and high praise, which says a lot because those two are tough critics who know good food. The ribs had an amazing flavor, and the sauce had the right kick to set off the dish. Uncle Toni was ready to cut the cameras off so he could tear into the rest of the ribs from Pete’s!
Also worthy of note is the fact Uncle Toni thought that Pete’s Crazy Grill were the only ribs in our experiment that were actually cooked on the grill. Uncle Toni put his investigative skills to work when tasting the ribs, and decided that certain restaurants had actually pre-boiled the ribs or cooked the ribs in the oven. True barbecue lovers know that it is a cardinal sin to bake your ribs. We need all of the smoke for our barbecue!
Luckily, Pete’s Crazy Grill brought all of the smoke and the flavor. The Toni Girls love the fact that the winner of this taste test is a black-owned business located in our hometown, Riviera Beach! If you are looking for some of the best barbecue in Palm Beach, you should definitely try Pete’s Crazy Grill.
Don’t worry: the other restaurants in our experiment gave us tasty ribs as well. You can get flavorful and tender ribs from both Park Avenue BBQ Grille and Okeechobee Steakhouse.
