Don’t EVER sleep on Riviera Beach! Our hometown is full of hidden gems and surprises. Did you know that there is a fantastic vegan spot right on Congress in Riviera Beach? Neither did we! You can grab vegan cheesesteak, desserts, and more right in our
The Toni Girls are definitely not vegans. But we are adventurous enough to try anything once for our Taste Buddies. Although we were nervous about eating a meatless sandwich from a deli, we were blown away by the delicious menu at Dina’s Vegan Deli & Desserts!
The experience at Dina’s is lovely.
As soon as you walk into Dina’s, you are greeted by friendly and welcoming staff. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the decor is clean and trendy.
We absolutely love being able to meet the owners when we walk into a restaurant. As non-vegans, of course, we had tons of questions about the menu. (Like, how in the world do you make a philly cheesesteak with no meat?)
Dina and her staff were kind and patient enough to educate us on their creations.
So, here’s the low down on Dina’s:
Everything at Dina’s is 100% plant-based. The “meat” is made from wheat grain protein. The Taste Buddies will be happy to know that the plant-based “meat” and “cheese wiz” are all made in-house at Dina’s.
Dina was trained in the culinary arts in Manhattan. She furthered her studies of the raw vegan diet at Hippocrates Health Institute in West Palm Beach, Florida. So, Dina is an expert in all things vegan (unlike the Toni Girls).
Dina’s menu features vegan cheesesteaks, gyros, and hoagies. But, you already know that the dessert case instantly caught our attention. It was love at first sight! Dina’s dessert case is stocked with Instagram-worthy confections that will make you break your diet.
Dina’s was also kind enough to give us a few of their famous “Chunkie Dunkies” chocolate chip cookies. These organic-based cookies are raw, gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free, non-GMO, soy-free, paleo, and made from nuts.
OK, but how did these fancy, vegan cheesesteaks taste?
For all of my hoagie and sub lovers, we are happy to report that the sandwiches are excellent! You would hardly know the difference between one of Dina’s sandwiches and your meat-filled sub.
Check out what we tried at Dina’s:
Philly Cheesesteak
Toni J. tried the philly cheesesteak, which is Dina’s signature sandwich. It’s only right that Dina’s is famous for their vegan cheesesteaks: the owners are Philadelphia born and raised. (Cue the Fresh Prince theme song.)
Boardwalk Gyro
The Toni Girls love a good lamb gyro! Toni N. was definitely confused by how delicious the seitan-based gyro tasted at first bite. She could not believe that a meatless sandwich could actually taste so good! No, the “meat” does not taste like lamb. But, it is totally tasty.
BLTeez Me (4 stars)
Nana Toni tried the BLTeez Me. She has a tender tummy, so she had to pass on the tomato. She enjoyed the sandwich. But beware: the smokey tempeh on this sandwich has a delayed spicy kick that sets in after you’ve chomped down a few bites. Nana Toni’s joke of the day was that she had a BLT with no no “B” (smokey tempeh instead of swine) and no “T” (tomato).
Raw Vegan Cheesecake
GOODNESS GRACIOUS! This cheesecake is fabulous, creamy, and delightful. The cake was drizzled with chocolate and had chocolate chips running throughout. This is the dish that really knocked us out. You would never know that this cheesecake is dairy-free. The Toni Girls crown this dish as our favorite at Dina’s.
This cheesecake is so good that we are adding Dina’s to our recommended list of Palm Beach dessert spots to try during Corona quarantine!
Cereal Bar
Where are all of our Rice Krispies Treats lovers? Dina’s cereal bar is for you! It is moist and sugary goodness. Sensational! Each bite of the cereal bar, pushes you higher into the clouds of dessert heaven.
Try Dina’s!
We loved everything about Dina’s: the sandwiches, the desserts, the ambiance, and the modern decor. It felt awesome to tear into a delicious sub that is 100% plant-based and cruelty-free.
While the Toni Girls aren’t exactly ready to convert to the vegan lifestyle, we truly enjoyed the experience at Dina’s. We recommend that everyone, vegans and meat-eaters alike, check out this deli in Riviera Beach. Great taste and guilt-free eating is a win for everyone!
Dina’s Vegan Deli is located in the best waterfront city in which to live, work, and play, at 1880 W 10th St. Bldg. 106, Riviera Beach, Florida. A curbside pickup option is available for customers, which is a great service for those of us who are serious about social distancing and quarantine.
