The Toni Girls were feeling spicy and headed down to Chulas Botanera in Lake Worth, Florida. We saw Chulas’ lit Instagram page, and were curious enough to check it out. This Mexican restaurant features super fun and unique dishes.
Take a look at the tasty foods we scarfed down at Chulas!
Papas Locas
These “crazy French fries” were a cheesy, meaty delight! It is definitely not a dish for the faint of heart! If you like your fries fully loaded, you will absolutely love this dish.
Pepinos
The pepinos dish consisted of cucumbers in a lemony juice, topped with chili. The pepinos were a tangy, spicy snack that tantalized the Toni Girls’ taste buds! Our calorie-counting Taste Buddies will appreciate this healthy dish.
Mangonada
Have you ever had spicy ice cream? If not, try the Mangonada at Chulas. We were so shocked to bite into the Mangonada and realize that the red sprinkles atop the ice cream were sprinkles of chili! Full disclosure: our Spanish was not good enough to get a clear explanation of the full ingredients in this dish. We can tell you that it involved chili, mango chunks, and some sort of fruity sorbet. Sugar, spice, and, yes, it was nice!
Nachos with Jalapeños
The Toni Girls order nachos any time we visit a Mexican restaurant, so we had some pretty high hopes for these chips. This classic Mexican dish did not disappoint. Loaded with cheese and spicy jalapeños, we really enjoyed tearing into the nachos!
The ambiance at Chulas was quite adorable!
From the menu, to the music, to the Mexican decor, the Toni Girls felt like we were in an authentic Mexican spot nestled in Palm Beach County. Unfortunately, due to The ‘Rona, we ate our food outside, and didn’t have the chance to enjoy the dining room. Click the arrows to check out the festive decor.
Overall, Chulas was a hit for the Toni Girls. Don’t go there when you’re in a rush: we had to wait a good minute for our food. But you can’t rush greatness! We recommend that you try out this lovely, Mexican restaurant. You will not regret it.
Chulas is located at 4391 10th Ave N. in Lake Worth. Chulas recently opened a second location at 3022 S. Jog Rd. in Greenacres.
